An important part of the Lehigh Valley Athletic Club mission is raise the bar on wrestling excellence at all levels from schoolboy to Olympic contender. One of the leading proponents of Club support to Fargo is Jon Trenge, LU ’05, who made a challenge gift to the Board because “there wasn’t any club support when I went in the ‘90s” (the LVAC was founded as Jon graduated from Parkland HS).

Therefore, attendees at wrestling clinics of the Lehigh Valley Athletic Club are now eligible to receive a partial travel stipend to the annual Cadet or Junior National freestyle championships in Fargo in July. The typical amount awarded is $300 per trip.

In like fashion, other LVAC support is budgeted for the Senior level, such as the subsidies offered to Matt Valenti during 2009 to the U.S. National Open (Las Vegas), U.S. World Team Trials (Council Bluffs, IA) and the World Team Training Camp in Colorado Springs.
